Church of Elder was founded in Fulda in the mid-1980s as a high school band and was a fixture on the local rock scene until the mid-1990s. After a hiatus of nearly three decades, the band made an impressive comeback in 2023 with the album “Magnetic Universe.”
Their sound blends alternative rock with influences from prog and art rock, ranging from driving to dreamy. After all these years, their creative spark has not only been preserved but has actually grown.

With their second album, “A Hidden Playground” (out end August 2026), the band follows up. The new songs are denser, at times darker, and significantly more layered than the comeback album. A consistent evolution that shows depth without losing its way.
